The distribution of welfare in Ivory coast: an analysis of consumption behavior and economic activities of Ivorian households: a research proposal

Abstract

This project combines a solution to urgent information needs of the Ivorian government with the World Bank’s general research goal to further knowledge on household behavior and development in sub-Saharan Africa. The information need regards the growing concern in Ivory Coast about the urban rural gap in development opportunities, and about income differences between the major rural zones and between occupational and educational groups. These distributional issues were recently identified in the country economic report on Ivory Coast as one of the major constraints to further development.
