Abstract
The subsistence farming implies the need for establishing household food reserves as production fluctuates wildly and is consumed overtime between harvesting seasons. It is also rarely carried over for more than a few months. And very often poor harvests result in low household reserve that are insufficient to cover family consumption requirements frequently leading to starvation and famine.
