Abstract
My study indicates that girls who drop out of secondary school after about three years of education are a suitable target group for nonformal education. Many of them are motivated to continue learning, particularly if the course is vocationally oriented. The cost involved in launching and maintaining a programme can be the factor determining its survival and effectiveness, Costs include the expenses involved in securing the services of teaching and administrative personnel, the use of buildings and equipment, as well as the value of participant’s time.
