Drought and desertification in Africa: rural progress

Abstract

The current edition of RURAL PROGRESS is devoted, almost entirely, to the problems of drought and desertification in Africa. This issue contains the first publication of the Regional Plan of Action to Combat the Impacts of Drought in Africa, which was adopted at the Tenth ECA Conference of Ministers by its resolution 499 (XIX) of May 1984, as a result of the deliberations on the Report of the Scientific Round Table organized by ECA on the Climatic situation and drought in Africa.
