dc.description.abstract | The concept of Development Planning has a special significance for our developing countries. To boost all sectors of the national economy, it is essential to exploit all resources - human as well as material to the maximum extent possible. As such, the importance of developing a sound Home Economics Programme integrated with the national development plans and geared to the welfare of our people, can hardly be over-emphasized. The scope of Home Economics Programme has been widened by modern advances in Science and Technology and the consequent changes in the patterns of family life. To achieve success, the Home Economics Programme must reckoned with the varied needs' of the individual and the family. In planning the Home Economics Programme, the needs of children and youth must be given adequate consideration, it is essential to educate the mothers about the importance of nutritious food, personal and environmental cleanliness for the care and development of children. The need for evaluation and research as a basis for the planning of Home Economics Programme is self-evident. | en |
