The Nairobi Forward-looking Strategies for the Advancement of Women were adopted by the World Conference to Review and Appraise the Achievements of the United Nations Decade for Women: Equality, Development and Peace. The Conference was held in Nairobi, Kenya from 15 to 26 July 1985. The Strategies were adopted by consensus by the 157 countries represented at the Conference. The complete report of the Conference (United Nations publication, Sales No. E.85.IV.10) may be purchased by writing to the United Nations, Sales Section, New York, N.Y. 10017, USA. The Strategies were adopted without a vote by the 40th session of the United Nations General Assembly in resolution 40/108 on 13 December 1985.
