Abstract

The 2001 African Statistical Yearbook the 20th issue, presents data arranged on a country basis for 53 ECA members States, generally for the years 1990 to 1999 or for the last nine years for which data are available. The statistics presented in this edition of the Yearbook are, as far as possible in accordance with international recommendations and definitions. Where important deviations are known to exist. They are indicated in footnotes at the end of each country.
