Social welfare and community development: Ghana, Libya and the United Arab Republic: draft resolution

Abstract

The Economic Commission for Africa recognizes the necessity of coordinated planning, organization, and administration of social welfare and community development programs based on research into the needs of African populations. Acknowledging the report from the first session of the Standing Committee of Experts on Social Welfare and Community Development, the Commission commends the expert group for its contributions and issues several recommendations. These include incorporating the Standing Committee's recommendations into the Commission's work, ensuring the continued annual convening of experts prior to Commission sessions, and prioritizing key recommendations in the Commission's work program to enhance social welfare and community development efforts across Africa.
