Statement by Mr. F.R.A. Walraven, head of the Netherlands observer delegation at the Seventh session of the Economic Commission for Africa

Abstract

This statement presented by the representative of the delegation of the head of Netherlands observers MR. F. R. A. Walraven, at the seventh session of the commission. The representative on his statement outlines that The Commission, now comprising almost forty countries, has a vital role to play in the attainment of an accelerated and integrated development of this continent. Under the most able and distinguished leadership of the Executive Secretary, Mr. gardiner, the ECA will be able to live up to many expectations of the peoples of Africa. In the framework of the European Common market the Netherlands have always maintained a constructive attitude towards the economic interests of the African countries. with regard to the African institute for economic development and planning and the African development Bank the Netherlands government will be pleased to render the support of their experts.
