This statement presented by M.A. Burnly observer for the international bank for reconstruction and development. The representative pointed out the international finance corporation has been accelerating and expanding its activities in support of the development of African private industry. The statement focuses on mobilizing other financing as well as investing its own funds, by laying stress upon the importance of domestic financial and management participation, and by encouraging the growth of local markets.
