The purpose of the present study is to examine, within the framework of following up the implementation of General Assembly Resolution 35/64 on the LPA and General Assembly Resolution A.40/40 on the critical economic situation in Africa, the extent to which the planning practices currently being pursued in Africa reflect the regional development strategies recently adopted in APPER and UN-PAAERD 1986-1990 and how much they contribute to the implementation of the ·LPA and FAL •
