Abstract

The Regional Seminar for African countries, organized by UNCTAO and ECA within the framework of the UNDP/UNCTAD Comprehensive Programme for the development of Trade between the Socialist, Countries of Eastern Europe and developing countries (phase II). The aim of the seminar was to enable the participants, who are senior level officials from the public and private sector of selected African countries to obtain basic knowledge of current economic trends. This aim was to be achieved by means of lectures on relevant topics delivered by project consultants and experts from the socialist Countries of the Eastern Europe and through the exchange of views between the participants and officials of the Ministers of foreign trade.
