Climate change, agriculture and food security : issue paper 2
Résumé
Climate change poses important challenges for agriculture and food security in Africa. It directly affects food production through changes in afro-ecological conditions and indirectly affects growth and distribution of incomes, and thereby, the demand for agricultural produce. Therefore, a paradigm
shift at all levels is needed. This means that agriculture and food security should be at the heart of sustainable development and poverty- eradication efforts, as well as those related to lower-carbon,
climate-resilient growth .
