dc.description.abstractNo one can deny the fact that the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) signed in January 2005 in Neivasha, Kenya, between the Sudan government and the Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Army (SPLA/M) had ushered the Sudan into a new phase which will definitely change the entire space of Sudan’s economy and society if taken to its logical end. However, it is necessary before dwelling on the subject matter to survey the background which brought the Sudan to the new phase mentioned earlier. This brief paper will consist of the following sections. Introduction; Budgetary and other policies and the underdevelopment and marginalization of Sudan’s various regions before 1956; Lack of sufficient allocation and development as causes of Sudan’s civil wars; The CPA, Wealth sharing and Power sharing; Challenges and future prospects and implication for other African Countries.en
