An all Africa Colloquium on Telecommunications and Economic Prosperity: A Strategy for Africa, jointly organized by the World Bank, the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the African Development Bank (ADB) with the financial assistance of the Government of Canada, the French Cooperation, the European Union and the collaboration of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cote d'lvoire from 21 to 25 February 3994. The participants included ministers in charge of telecommunications of several African countries, senior managers of African telecommunications administrations, African sub-regional organizations, international organizations and representatives of the private sector mostly from North America and Europe. I represented the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
