Mission to Zambia in connection with road safety project

Abstract

In the consideration of the terms of Reference, it was felt necessary to hold further consultation with the National Road Safety Council with particular reference to the functioning of that Council, which is considered an important prerequisite to the effective implementation of road safety programmes. In addition, the mission undertook a preliminary appraisal of some aspects of the actual road traffic safety on the ground, on the basis of which recommendation will be made on the kind of assistance the Economic Commission for Africa could provide for the implementation of the Road Traffic Safety project.
