ECA activities in promoting trade and economic cooperation between Africa and socialist countries of Eastern Europe

Abstract

This document presents an analysis of the trade and economic cooperation between African countries and the socialist countries of Eastern Europe, as discussed during the United Nations Economic and Social Council's seminar held in Harare, Zimbabwe, from February 12-14, 1986. It outlines the historical context of trade relations, highlighting the recent emergence of these ties and their significance for economic development. The document concludes with recommendations for future activities by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) to promote trade and economic cooperation, including the organization of meetings and training workshops aimed at fostering bilateral trade relations.
