The objective of the sub-programme “fostering sustainable development improve national capacities for formulation and implementing effective programmes including gender mainstreaming in the areas of agriculture and science and technology population human settlement and natural resource environment consistent with goals and priorities of NEPAD and the international agreed development goals includes those contained in the United Nations Millennium declaration and the relevant provision of Johannesburg plan implementation adopt at the world summit on sustainable development.
