Résumé
The overall purpose of the biennial program plan is to promote inclusive and sustainable economic and social development in support of accelerating the structural transformation of Africa. This is in line with the priorities and vision articulated in the Agenda 2063. The Commission’s overall strategy for achieving the objectives of the program will continue to be centered on nine interdependent and complementary subprograms: Macroeconomic policy; Regional integration and trade; Innovations, technologies and management of Africa’s natural resources; Statistics; Capacity development; Gender and women in development; Sub regional activities for development; Development planning and administration; and Social development policy. Special efforts have been made to ensure that the gender mainstreaming strategy of the Commission is reflected throughout the nine subprograms of the present biennial program plan. The issue of publications has been reviewed in the context of each subprogram. It is anticipated that recurrent and non-recurrent publications will be issued, as summarized in and as distributed in the output information for each subprogram.
