Assessment report on mainstreaming and implementing disaster risk reduction measures in Nigeria

Abstract

This assessment report on mainstreaming and implementing disaster risk reduction measures in Nigeria was prepared within the framework of the United Nations Development Account project on mainstreaming disaster risk reduction in national and regional development strategies in support of efforts to meet the Millennium Development Goals and the attainment of sustainable development in Africa. The report provided input to the preparation of the West Africa sub regional assessment report. It also served as a key resource for sub regional disaster risk reduction capacity development workshop, which, among other things, showcased and promoted good practices for scaling up the mainstreaming and implementation of disaster risk reduction measures as part of development frameworks. In addition, the findings in the report were disseminated at an event on disaster risk reduction mainstreaming and investment for resilient structural transformation of Africa.
