Résumé
African leaders have defined the region’s long-term strategic vision and priorities for inclusive growth and transformation in Agenda 2063. The present document provides an overview of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063, in terms of gender and social development, so that the Committee on Gender and Social Development can consider their implications for national development planning and related strategies and policies. Similarly, the 2030 Agenda aims to eradicate poverty in all its forms and dimensions globally, so that all persons can enjoy prosperous and fulfilling lives in peaceful, just and inclusive societies and in an environment that is protected from degradation.
