The purpose of this document is to portray the current situation of statistics in Africa and to highlight both the challenges and future prospects. The document will focus on the five priority areas for statistics in Africa: Civil registration and vital statistics;Governance, peace and security; National accounts; The data revolution; The long-term financing of statistical production.
