Agenda 2063 represented the aspiration of African citizens for a prosperous continent at peace with itself and the rest of the world. Already significant progress had been made towards that goal and a range of good practices were

To maintain that momentum, it was vital to have a framework for the monitoring of progress through clear and specific indicators (such as the number of women in peace negotiations, in peacekeeping operations, in mediation, and in other influential roles), and to have accurate and comprehensive data.
