This document reviews contemporary macroeconomic development strategies in the context of globalization and the economic realities in Africa by critically evaluating poverty reduction strategy papers (PRSPs) from the gender-aware macroeconomics perspective developed in Module 7 on gender and macroeconomics. It uses this same framework to survey some of the key macroeconomic policies that have been established under contemporary African policy regimes.
