Report of the committee of experts of the third joint annual meetings of the au conference of ministers of economy and finance and ECA conference of African ministers of finance, planning and economic development

Abstract

The joint annual meeting provides an opportunity for Africa’s leading development experts to exchange views on the continent’s progress over each preceding year. ECA had done in pursuit of its mandate during that period while creating an opportunity to review a broad range of issues of development interest. Additionally, ECA had embarked on a series of initiatives to help the continent to design appropriate and coherent policy responses to mitigate the impacts of the crises and related challenges. ECA had also continued to support African countries in their participation in various global processes, such as the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference. Africa needs to continue to speak with one voice to ensure that its interests and concerns were taken into account in global processes.
