Report of the second meeting of chief executives of port management associations in Africa, Addis Ababa Ethiopia 14-16 October 1985

Abstract

This paper focuses on the role of African ports in the socio-economic development of Africa. He outlined the importance of the three ECA-sponsored Port Management Association in existence in the socio-economic development, as a whole and in facilitating sea-borne trade of African countries in particular. Member ports of these Associations, he said, should equip themselves to meet future foreign trade traffic demands of African countries.
