Abstract
The overall objective of this programme is to promote economic and social development in Africa. The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) which is responsible for the implementation of the programme, will seek to achieve this objective mainly through advocacy for policy measures and actions which African countries as well as the international community should adopt to achieve sustainable growth and development in the region.
