African common position on environment and development

Abstract

This paper focuses on African common position on environment and development. The document is built-upon the environmental guidelines provided in the Monrovia declaration (1979), the Lagos plan of action (1980), the African ministerial conference on the environment (AMCEN), Cairo (1985) and the critical experiences that led to the adoption of the African priority programme for economic recovery (APPER) and the United Nations Programme of action for African economic recovery and development (UN-PAAERD).
