Management development and organization development

Abstract

This paper focuses on management development and organization development. objective sometimes is emphasized to the point of almost excluding the immediate objective. Both the objectives are important, the immediate one (i.e., improving competence in present position) for the results it produces and also as a means of attaining the long-term one. Thus Management Development (MD) has a dual role of improving the current performance of an organization's managers and preparing mangers for future responsibilities.
