Abstract
This paper focuses on preliminary assessment report on: Institutional mechanisms for the advancement of women. The Beijing Platform for Action identified three Strategic Objectives (H.1, H.2 and H.3) under the theme Institutional Mechanisms for the Advancement of Women viz. “Create and strengthen national machineries and other governmental bodies; integrate gender perspectives in legislation, public policies, programmes and projects;” and “generate and disseminate gender disaggregated data and information for planning and evaluation.”
