This paper focuses on public sector management reform in Africa: experiences and perspectives of UNDP. UNDP-supported public sector management reform (PSMR) in Africa promotes systemic and sustainable improvements in two areas: 1) capacity for high-quality policy formulation and execution; and 2) capacity to provide dependably and equitably essential services and facilities, such as education, security, health, water, sanitation, transport, and communications.
