Abstract
The general policy in the field of education in the Sudan is contained in the comprehensive National Strategy, 1992-2002 . The introduction to the section on the strategy of general education stiputatesthat education is the main key element in social change and the basis of change in the body of society . An important component of the general policy on education is basic education which is defined as the amount of education and knowledge which every society considers as the right of the citizen and that society must provide it for him. It represents the necessary amount of knowledge, mental abilities, spiritual instruction, skills and attitudes that an individual must have in a stage of his life whether he be young, youth or old.
