Lesotho is a small country completely surrounded by the Republic of South Africa. It has a population of 1.8 million. It is a former British colony. The education system consists of seven-year primary cycle, three years of junior secondary and two years of senior secondary or high school There is one teacher training college, a number of technical and vocational schools, and one university.
