Abstract
The sixth Africa Regional Conference on Women plans to take stock, within the context of a mid-decade review, of the degree to which the Platform has been implemented in Africa. The organization of this Conference forms part of the international machinery for following up and evaluating the implementation of global instruments relating to the advancement of women. This paper will be attempting to measure the progress achieved in Africa in implementing the Beijing Platform recommendations in the critical area of women, information, communication and arts.
