Telephone lines are the foundation of national information infrastructure. Besides their traditional role of supporting voice communications, telephone lines are increasingly used to transmit faxes and to connect computers for sending electronic mail, accessing on-line databases and exchanging data. Developments in compression technology now make it possible to even transfer video images over conventional telephone lines. The service vision at the Corporation is to ensure that the latest technology is available to our customers at competitive prices.
