Revised framework of principles for the implementation of the new international Economic Order in Africa, 1976-1981-1986

Abstract

When the Governments of the newly independent states in Africa were established, they were faced with the need to fulfill the promises they had made during the pre-independence period to improve the standard of living of their people and to diversify their economy. However, the constitution and administrative machinery they had inherited were of limited scope They had been designed primarily to establish a framework of law and order within which it would be possible for agents of production and distribution from their respective metropolitan countries to organize and direct economic activities to their own interests.
