Abstract
This paper focuses on Measuring and Reporting Gender Equality: The ECA's African Centre for Gender and Development (ACGD) has developed an African Gender and Development Index (AGDI), a tool to measure gender equality and equity, as well as the empowerment and advancement of women in Africa. African states have ratified a number of conventions over time aimed at bringing about socio-economic development for the betterment of all social sub-groups.
