Abstract
The continued dependence on spare-parts and accessories from developed regions has become a traditional industrial phenomenon in African developing countries particularly for transport equipment, agricultural machinery and capital goods. Spare-parts and related components are important inputs to all industrial activity particularly in the field of engineering industries. The production, and productivity largely depends on the timely procurement and availability of spare-parts. Industrial breakdowns not only jeopardies the production, but at the same time adversely affects the investment recovery and financial obligations, those are closely linked with the very existence of industry. This brief project description therefore intends to layout the preconditions for setting-up of selected spare-parts. Manufacture, within the African industries at national and sub regional level, in order to minimize Investment costs through the participation of MULPOC countries within the framework of objectives set out in National Development Plans.
