The premise of this study is that inadequate interface amongst stakeholders has largely contributed to the slow and disappointing pace of the development of SMEs as instruments of employment creation, industrialization and sustainable development in Africa. Therefore,
measures must be explored to enhance and strengthen interface between governments,university/research institutes and the private sector, specifically in the context of developing the capacity of SMEs.
