Abstract
On arrival in Freetown the Regional Adviser found that pre-census activities were at a standstill awaiting UNFPA written approval of funding assistance for SIL/83/PQI (Population Census), The Resident Representative cabled UNFPA New York, however, and 3 days later approval was: received but with a reduced budget, i.e., $690,479 instead of the $950,594 requested.
