Résumé
The report provides an assessment of the activities, commitments and situation on the United Nations Programme of Action for African Economic Recovery and Development, 1986-1990 (UN-PAAERD). This programme recorded the commitment of the international community to supplement the initiatives being undertaken by African States to foster recovery and it spelt out concrete actions to be taken. The programme was earlier adopted in the twenty-first ordinary session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in July 1985 as the Africa’s Priority Programme for Economic Recovery, 1986-1990 (APPER). The report also documents four of the statements delivered to different audiences, the international media and diplomatic corps based in Addis Ababa, the ECA Conference of Ministers of Planning, Development, it is Technical Preparatory Committee of the Whole, and the Council of Ministers of the OAU.
