Abstract
This study attempts to examine the anticipated impact these new developments in the European Monetary System (EMS) could have on monetary and financial arrangements in Anglophone Africa. The other two studies will evaluate and analyse the impact these developments are likely to have on the "CFA Franc Zone", and on "non-CFA Franc Zone" French-speaking Africa.
