Economic survey of Africa since 1950

Abstract

This report analyses the economic structure of African countries and deal generally with patterns of economic development in those countries. Against this background the growth of economic activity since 1950 in the main sectors is reviewed. Since it is through the expansion of the money economy that development must come and since the mainsprings of such expansion in most African countries are the export sector and the public sector, particular attention is given to these sector in the report.
