This report of the Economic Commission for Africa covers the second part of the secretariat's progress report for the two years subsequent to the commissions eighth session from 1 March 1968 to 2 February 1969. The first part of the report was submitted by the Executive Secretary at the forty-fifth session of the Economic and Social council in conformity with council resolution 1066 (XXXIX) and in accordance with paragraph 17 of the Commission's terms of reference. The second part of the report is submitted in the ninth session of the commission simultaneously with the first part and, when approved, will be submitted to the economic and social council for consideration at its fourth-seventh session.
