In conclusion, it was stated that in addition to the information to be furnished by the States and institutions, those measures should, inter-alia, seek to- (a) improve and co-ordinate mining development policies; (b) step up possibilities to process mineral raw materials and to manufacture articles from them; (c) establish and render effective the functioning of large African markets so as to increase consumption; (d) intensify co-operation, at all levels, amongst the States, subregional groupings and the regional institutions; and (e) encourage member States and subregional groupings to join existing or future mineral resources development centres.
