Hydrographic assistance, training, surveying and charting in Africa at the beginning of 1993

Abstract

This paper has been prepared by the International Hydrographic Bureau (IHB), Monaco at the request of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. The paper provides an update to a similar one presented at the 7th Conference by the IHO. The data presented may be somewhat incomplete in places due to the difficulty of getting up-to-date information. The work of the IHO in Africa in the fields of assistance, training and cartography is summarized.
