Regional african satellite communication system (RASCOM)

Abstract

This paper focuses on the Africa's efforts to establish African regional satellite communications system. The mandate of the Inter-Agency co-coordinating Committee "IACC” as the supervisor of the RASCOM feasibility study project was reaffirmed by the Conference of African Ministers of Transport, Communications and Planning at its fifth meeting held in Harare, Zimbabwe, in March 1986 when it approved the recommendations of the IACC on the financing and management of the project.
