Abstract
In Zambia women have contributed as much as men to the economic development process in the years since independence. Unfortunately, most of the women's contributions have either gone unnoticed or with very little value attached to them. In recent years, however, increasing awareness of the role played by women is becoming more evident. Furthermore, women themselves are becoming increasingly aware of their roles and contributions to the Zambian society
