Towards an African multinational freight airline

Abstract

This preliminary paper has been put forward to ECA member states and interested international bodies such as the African civil aviation (AFCAC). The African development bank(ADB), the association of African airlines(AAFRA), the organization of African unity (OAU) and the United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) with the aim of obtaining reactions, comments and criticisms; so that concrete and positive proposals may be put forward in that report. In addition, it is hoped that AFCAC will give leave for the paper to be discussed at their third plenary conference to be held in Uganda in April, 1975. The ECA ask readers to bear in mind that the current proposals are based primarily on information gleaned during visits to only 12 African States (although supported by additional data and Regional information) and it is hoped that further States in particular will contribute towards the final document.
