Beijing +5 : what do natioanl plans of action contain for rural women

Abstract

The Minister of Social Affairs and the Promotion of Women from Togo, Ms Tembé Ashira AISAH-ASSIH, officially opened the discussion forum. She stressed the need for particular attention to women living in rural areas, as this is where the majority of women in African countries live and try to make a living. She further underlined the need to support rural women, given the fact .that they form a major part of the po nation living below the poverty line.
